Phone: 562-427-0911 or email Andrew

Andrew Olvera joined Camp Tahquitz as our new Camp Ranger on May 1, 2026.

Andrew brings both relevant experience and a meaningful personal connection to the role. He most recently served as Camp Ranger at Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley for nearly four years, where he was responsible for supporting camp operations, facilities, and program delivery.

In addition, Andrew is a former Scout from Troop 67 in the Long Beach Area Council, making this a true full-circle opportunity as he returns to serve a camp and council that helped shape his early Scouting experience.

Andrew will be relocating to camp with his wife, Jacquelyn, and their three children: Emmett (5), Wesley (2), and Shelby (7 mo.). They are eager to become part of the fabric of Camp Tahquitz. Their household also includes a horse, donkey, chickens, ducks, two dogs, and two cats, reflecting their strong connection to outdoor living.

Andrew is passionate about the mission of Scouting and believes deeply in its impact on youth development through outdoor experiences, skill-building, and values-based leadership. He looks forward to meeting members of the community and building strong relationships across our network.

Please join us in welcoming Andrew and his family to Camp Tahquitz.
