Camp Tahquitz
Established in 1925 in Idyllwild, California, by the Long Beach Council, Camp Tahquitz began as a 5-acre mountain camp for Scouts, hosting its first summer season in 1926. Due to expansion needs, the camp moved to a larger 640-acre site in Barton Flats in 1959, where it still operates. It is renowned for its all-volunteer staff, the historic Tribe of Tahquitz/Tahquitz Community (founded 1925), and as one of the first to add a climbing tower.
